Vlahovic: “I express myself best under Thiago Motta, with Allegri… “

In a Juventus team currently experiencing a three-game drought in both victories and goals, Dusan Vlahovic finds himself in the spotlight. The Serbian striker, facing recent criticism for his performances, shared his thoughts in an interview with DAZN (via Calciomercato).

“I’m settling in well with Thiago Motta. I can express myself better, and this style of play suits me more,” Vlahovic stated. He added, “With Coach Allegri, I’ve always made myself available and have always gladly done everything he asked of me.”

Regarding Motta’s frequent advice, Vlahovic revealed, “From the start, he talked to me about discipline: doing those things that seem simple but actually aren’t. Going to bed at the same time, resting well, sleeping well, and following the right diet.”

On his personal goals, the striker said, “I don’t set limits for myself; I always raise the bar. I’ve never been satisfied, not even in the season when I moved from Fiorentina to Juventus and scored 24 goals. You can always do better.”

Vlahovic acknowledged his need for improvement in emotional control: “Sometimes on the field, if things don’t go well, I start to get agitated. But it’s something I’m changing because it’s useless. As Djokovic said: ‘My greatest ability is knowing how to erase mistakes.’ Cristiano Ronaldo said it too. This is an aspect I can improve on.”

When asked about becoming a leader at Juventus, Vlahovic responded, “If I think about becoming a reference point for my teammates, even for the younger ones, I must have excellent behavior and set an example for everyone, with work before and after training, with my attitude on the field. I hope to be an example for them and to be even more so in the future.”

Regarding the Scudetto race and the duel with Inter, he commented, “It will be a duel against ourselves. There are many teams that can compete; it’s too early to say. Inter was undoubtedly the best team last year: they are a very strong team. But this year, the championship will be decided by details.”

Finally, Vlahovic discussed the world’s top strikers he looks up to: “From Haaland, I would take his way of attacking the box. When he starts, he’s difficult to stop, for how he attacks depth and for his physique. From Lautaro, I would take his body positioning; it’s deadly. Last year he was rightfully the best, and I have great respect for him. From Kane and Lewandowski, I would steal their finishing, from Osimhen his speed.”
