Juventus-Osimhen: Separating fact from fiction

Start

Victor Osimhen has quickly won over Galatasaray fans in just 180 minutes of play, providing two crucial assists, including one to Mertens in the victory against rivals Fenerbahce. The Nigerian striker appears to be rediscovering his form and motivation in Turkey after a difficult period at Napoli.

Calciomercato report that despite recent speculation about a potential January move, Galatasaray has firmly shut down such rumors. Ibrahim Hatipoglu, the club’s vice president, stated unequivocally that there is “no possibility of Osimhen leaving the team in January.” The Turkish club secured Osimhen on a dry loan from Napoli, covering his €6 million salary.

Looking ahead to next season, Osimhen’s release clause stands at €75 million plus taxes, but this is only valid for foreign clubs. Juventus could potentially enter the race for Osimhen, but this scenario is contingent on the sale of Dusan Vlahovic, who has been underperforming. Cristiano Giuntoli, Juventus’ sporting director, has an excellent relationship with both Osimhen and his agent, which could play in the club’s favor.

While Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis would prefer not to sell Osimhen to Juventus, he acknowledged the striker’s challenging market situation last summer. Closing the door on a potential Juventus move could prove risky for Napoli.

As a result, Osimhen, along with Lille’s Jonathan David, may become a concrete option for Juventus’ future plans. However, at present, this remains more of a tentative idea than a definitive strategy for the Turin club.
