Cassano: ‘Juventus under Thiago Motta are still rubbish’

Start

In a recent appearance on the show “Viva el Futbol,” former Italian footballer Antonio Cassano didn’t hold back in his criticism of Juventus and their current form. Known for his outspoken nature, Cassano shared his thoughts on the recent Juventus-Napoli match, new player acquisitions, and the team’s overall performance:

“I have the impression that I will clash with Lele tonight. Juve were a total boredom, I’m fed up with watching the game. Unlike other teams that play football. It’s convenient for Napoli, they were playing in Turin. They did something good because they changed their formation but I expected something else offensively from the Neapolitans. In the defensive phase, they run with eleven and are well organized. Napoli, in my opinion, played the game trying to win it with the bare minimum but didn’t want to lose it.”

“Juventus, I start with players like Koopmeiners who made this strong choice, Nico Gonzalez too. It’s one thing to play in teams like Atalanta (which today I don’t know if it’s more important in Europe than Juve) and it’s complicated to play for Juve. I don’t like Vlahovic, he’s neurotic and lacks personality, he doesn’t know what to do, he’s always there complaining. Milik, when he’s fit, is much stronger than him. Zirkzee has become like this thanks to Thiago but he wasn’t like that. When Milik is fit, he plays because he’s more suited to Thiago’s ideas.”

“Thiago Motta? I have too much respect for my friends and for those who follow us. I disintegrated Allegri because he sucked and I still think so. After six games I have to say the same thing about Thiago. To date, he hasn’t done anything. In the first games, he started behind the ball and then counterattacked. It didn’t convince me and I said he wouldn’t finish in the top four, now it’s worse. I know Thiago and I respect him, he’s not like Allegri who isn’t a coach. Today I see the Juve of last year, but they have sucked for the last three years and until today in the league they are still rubbish. I respect Thiago but in the league he’s doing terribly. Many situations don’t convince me. Do these many rotations do good or not? I don’t know.”

“Danilo? I’m not crazy about him, he was Allegri’s man but he’s a starter in Brazil. Douglas Luiz was there for a month and doesn’t play. The striker? Stupid yes but not idiots, in press conferences they are facade words to say he had a good game if then he gets substituted at halftime. There are choices I’m not understanding: it’s right to play those who are doing well. But you bought Douglas for fifty million, the striker doesn’t perform well but you have no alternatives, you have to tell the fan that he didn’t play well and that you will try to help him.”
