Inter CEO Marotta speaks ahead of Milan derby

Start

In a pre-match interview with DAZN before the highly anticipated Milan derby, Inter’s CEO Giuseppe Marotta shared his thoughts on the upcoming clash. This marks Marotta’s 18th derby as an Inter executive, but his first as president.

Marotta emphasized the significance of the occasion, stating, “This can be an additional stimulus in a context like the derby. The entire environment is charged to give their best and to achieve the maximum result.”

When asked about derby preparation, Marotta highlighted the team’s growth over the past two years: “I must say that this group has grown in awareness in the last two years and therefore knows that today we have everything to lose. Consequently, greater personality, greater attention, and greater motivation are needed, because clearly we are the favorites. And so this behavior has entered the minds of the players, the coach, and all of us.”

The CEO acknowledged the unique flavor of derby matches, explaining, “Derbies, as I said, have a particular flavor, so they are prepared with the same dynamics as in the past. We know that the fans expect a lot from this team tonight, and therefore it’s normal that there must be even more concentration and motivation from the team, because we absolutely must not look at the standings.”
