Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna has provided updates on several key topics in a recent interview with Sky Sport. Speaking on the sidelines of a conference titled “From Analog to Digital: The New Challenges of Communication,” Manna addressed the club’s recent signings and ongoing contract negotiations.
Regarding new manager Antonio Conte, Manna stated: “Conte has great ambitions and has worked at major clubs, so this is obviously a step up for us.” He also commented on the arrival of Romelu Lukaku: “We know what he and Conte achieved together at Inter. The manager’s desire was immediately clear, and the player integrated quickly with the group. Now we’re trying to build something important.”
When asked about Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s contract renewal, Manna reassured fans: “He still has three years on his contract. There have been teams approaching him, but we’ve shared the desire to continue together. We’re working with the player’s entourage to reach a contract renewal. We’re calm, there’s no need to rush.”
On the topic of goalkeeper Alex Meret’s renewal, Manna was equally positive: “We have the desire to continue with him, and he wants to continue with us. He’s an important goalkeeper, never questioned by us.”
Looking ahead to Napoli’s upcoming match against Juventus, Manna, who previously worked for the Turin club, commented: “It will be a great match against a well-equipped team that has made significant signings. They’re prepared to have an excellent run both in the league and in the Champions League.”
