Runjaic on Udinese’s 3-2 win over Parma: ‘The key to my game? Energy’

Start

Udinese secured another impressive victory, coming from behind to defeat Parma 3-2 at the Tardini stadium. The win propels the team to the top of the Serie A table. Florian Thauvin was the hero of the day, scoring a crucial brace in the second half to complete the comeback.

After the match, Udinese manager Kosta Runjaic spoke to DAZN about his team’s performance and his coaching philosophy. The German coach expressed his satisfaction with the result but remained grounded:

“We’re very happy with our current form, but it doesn’t mean much yet. It only shows us the direction we need to go in terms of scoring, winning, and making comebacks. We were in a difficult situation, but we showed great character to turn the result around. At this moment, it’s important to accumulate as many points as possible.”

When asked about the key elements of his playing style, Runjaic emphasized:

“The key to my idea of football is team spirit, the connection between defense and attack, energy, and intensity. In the first half, we didn’t play well, but it wasn’t terrible either. We lacked that energy which we then brought to the field in the second half, changing the course of the game.”

Runjaic also highlighted the rapid development of team cohesion:

“The main source of pride is the speed with which we’ve created a bond within the team, the club, and also with the fans.”
