Juventus failed to secure a win against Empoli, managing only a lackluster 0-0 draw despite the debuts of Koopmeiners and Nico Gonzalez in the starting lineup. Former midfielder Stefano Fiore shared his thoughts on the match, particularly focusing on the ex-Atalanta player, in an interview with Tv Play.
Fiore expressed his opinion on Koopmeiners, stating, “I like him as a player, but I’m convinced he doesn’t completely change the team. He doesn’t have the qualities to determine the result of a match single-handedly. More importantly, I don’t believe his economic valuation is accurate.”
He continued, “However, I must say that for a few years now, the transfer market has been somewhat inflated, and many things follow suit.”
When asked about comparisons between himself and Koopmeiners, Fiore clarified, “He’s a midfielder who has the potential to score six or seven goals a season. I was a different type of player. I played a lot on the wing, unfortunately. Back then, we often played with a 4-4-2 formation. Beyond the position, we interpret the role differently.”
