Dida shares Insights on AC Milan’s current situation

Start

Former AC Milan goalkeeper Nelson Dida recently shared his thoughts on the club’s current state in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport. The Brazilian legend offered his perspective on Milan’s start to the season, the new coach, and the impact of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s presence in the club’s management.

When asked about the results in the first few Serie A matchdays, Dida said, “I’ve been following Milan in particular, but I think Inter is still the favorite for the Scudetto because they have a quality squad and staff. They’ve focused on continuity, improving where possible.”

Regarding his former club, Dida commented, “It seems to me they’ve tried to acquire the best players for the project and the new coach’s requirements. Fonseca has just arrived and obviously needs time. He’ll need to work a bit more because winning all the summer friendlies is one thing, but aiming for important results in the league and Champions League is another. We all need to have a bit of patience.”

Addressing the ongoing debate about Fonseca’s compatibility with Serie A, despite his previous experience with Roma, Dida stated, “He’s an intelligent coach. Fonseca knows the league well. Working at Milan requires something extra because it’s a more important team compared to his previous ones. And this can weigh a bit. But the important thing is that he maintains calm, tranquility, and continues to work on what he has in mind. And with trust in his players, he can have a good season.”

Dida also emphasized the importance of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s presence in the club’s management: “Certainly. Zlatan well represents what Milan is, he knows everything about it. We know about his great passion for this club. Ibrahimovic never wants to lose, so thanks to his presence in the locker room and in contact with the staff, there’s a guarantee that Milan should always aim to win.”

When asked about which of Milan’s new signings intrigues him, Dida replied, “I’m intrigued by Morata, who isn’t a player like Ibrahimovic who always scores, but he still has technical quality to demonstrate.”
