On loan Juve player Filip Kostic shared his thoughts after transferring to Fenerbahce, saying the Turkish side were always his first choice. The Serbian international made the move from Turin to Istanbul days before the Turkish transfer window is set to close. Speaking about the move to the clubs official channels, Kostic explained why he always had the Turkish giants in mind as a transfer destination:
“I want to say that I’m very happy to be here. I’m very excited and can’t wait to train with my teammates. Frankly, I wanted to come to Fenerbahçe from day one. The fact that Dusan Tadic and Jose Mourinho are here is one of the most important reasons for me. Tadic is one of my best friends, I’ve been with him in the National team for a long time, so I’m really very happy to play with him again at Fenerbahçe.”
“Working with José Mourinho will be a great pleasure and for me, he’s one of the best coaches in the world. I hope we can win something together. I will try to do my best. I will do my best for the club and for the fans. Dusan Tadic is one of the best players to play with. I’ve always wanted to play with him at club level.
“I was very unlucky when I played at FC Groningen, frankly I couldn’t play. Honestly, it was very difficult to play instead of Tadic and cut him out. But obviously, it’s different here, I’m a different player compared to 14 years ago and I’ll do my best. Of course, it will be very nice to play with Tadic and with the other teammates. And it’s an honor to fight for this great club.”
