Inter and Juventus eye Sylla as Schalke director hints at potential sale

Despite having just arrived in the Bundesliga, Moussa Sylla might soon be bidding farewell to Germany. The French-born Malian striker, currently playing for Schalke 04 after a summer transfer from Pau FC for €2.5 million, has caught the attention of both Inter and Juventus.

According to reports from Bild (via Calciomercato), scouts from the two Italian clubs were present in the stands at Gelsenkirchen’s stadium to closely monitor Sylla during Schalke’s home defeat (1-3) against Cologne.

The 24-year-old forward has made an impressive start to his Schalke career, netting three goals and providing one assist in his first five appearances for the club. This performance has not gone unnoticed, with both Serie A giants expressing interest in securing his services.

Ben Manga, Schalke’s technical director, has not ruled out the possibility of Sylla’s departure in the coming months. He stated, “I believe we can sell Moussa for an excellent price. If someone leaves, it obviously weakens us, but it’s our job to keep an eye on the next acquisition. The road to getting out of this situation will be long.”

Schalke, currently playing in Germany’s second division, appears open to the idea of selling Sylla if a lucrative offer is made, especially given their current financial situation. The club took a financial gamble by bringing the former AS Monaco player to the Veltins-Arena, hoping he would play a crucial role in their quest to return to the Bundesliga.

However, Sylla himself has expressed ambitions of winning the top scorer title in the 2. Bundesliga, suggesting he might prefer to wait until the summer for a potential transfer. Nonetheless, if Juventus or Inter make a compelling move, the possibility of leaving his new club could become a reality sooner rather than later.
