AC Milan are reportedly monitoring the development of Tommaso Berti, the promising 19-year-old midfielder from Cesena. The young talent has been making waves in Serie B, attracting attention from several top-flight clubs, including the Rossoneri.
In a recent interview with Il Resto del Carlino, Berti addressed the transfer rumors surrounding him, saying: “Serie A clubs like Milan are keeping an eye on me? We’ll see. Right now, I’m only thinking about Cesena. I’ll give my all to contribute to another extraordinary season for our fans. We all want to have a great championship. I’m pleased to read about the interest from big clubs, it boosts my self-esteem without getting carried away, but now there’s only Cesena.”
TMW report how Berti’s impact in Serie B has been impressive, with the midfielder already notching a goal and two assists in the first three matches of the season. His performances have caught the attention of many scouts, including those from Milan.
While Berti would not be suitable for Milan’s youth team playing in Serie C, he could potentially be a valuable addition to the first team, especially considering squad list regulations.
Interestingly, this is not the first time Milan has shown interest in Berti. Three years ago, the Rossoneri were close to signing the young midfielder, but he opted for a move to Fiorentina instead. However, his spell in Florence didn’t work out as planned, and Berti returned to Cesena, where he has been showcasing his talent once again.
