Ahead of Italy’s match against Israel, Juventus winger Andrea Cambiaso reflected on the national team’s impressive victory over France. Speaking to RAI (via Corriere dello Sport), Cambiaso expressed his satisfaction with Italy’s 3-1 win in Paris, highlighting the team’s resilience and tactical adaptability.
“It was a great match, a strong performance, and we’re very happy,” Cambiaso stated. “After what happened at the Euros, we were devastated and had a strong desire for redemption. These past four days have been filled with enthusiasm. We’ve put the past behind us since we can’t go back and erase everything, so we’re looking forward.”
The Juventus player praised the team’s response to conceding an early goal, emphasizing their mental strength and tactical flexibility. “We played a great game in terms of pride and approach on the field, which was evident especially after falling behind so early,” he said.
Cambiaso also highlighted the positive impact of coach Luciano Spalletti’s management style and tactical decisions. “We all feel more free to play, not that we weren’t before. The coach has always been very accommodating and has allowed us to express ourselves,” he explained. “The change in the playing system decided by the coach was the winning formula.”
The Italian national team has now traveled to Budapest, where they will face Israel on neutral ground on Monday evening, with the match presenting an opportunity for Italy to build on their impressive start to the Nations League campaign and further implement Spalletti’s tactical vision.
