Italy striker Giacomo Raspadori spoke to Rai following the Azzurri’s 3-2 win over France in the Nations League.
When asked about his feelings after the game, Raspadori said, “Great victory. When you win against a team like this, there are many positive things. We needed to redeem ourselves and this willingness was evident, even if at times we had to sit back because they have quality players. We did what the match required.”
Regarding his position in the second half, Raspadori commented, “Absolutely, due to my characteristics, it’s the position where I can best alternate between the two phases. I can also arrive from behind and attack the area. In this role, I can express myself at my best.”
When questioned about a particular instance where he shot instead of crossing to Cambiaso and Retegui, Raspadori admitted, “I still have to review it, then I can give a judgment. It’s the classic situation where if you score, you’re right, and if you miss, criticism is justified.”
On his versatility, the striker stated, “One of my characteristics is understanding the game and making myself available to my teammate. I think it’s one of my main qualities.”
When asked if he noticed a lighter approach from Spalletti, the Napoli man responded, “He said what he’s doing with us. In important competitions, the pressure is higher, but we’re working serenely to be able to compete with everyone.”
