Roma manager Daniele De Rossi has expressed high praise for new signing Matias Soulé, highlighting the young Argentine’s exceptional talent and potential. Speaking to DAZN (via GDM), De Rossi lauded Soulé’s impact in his first Serie A season with Frosinone, comparing him favorably to the world’s best players in his age group.

“In his first season, he did something incredible. He’s comparable to the strongest players of his age in the world,” De Rossi stated. “In terms of successful dribbles and key passes, he even surpassed them.”

The Roma coach revealed he had long been aware of Soulé’s abilities, recalling his preparations for facing Frosinone last season: “When preparing for the match against Frosinone, I told the players to stay close to him because I knew he would become a phenomenon. He has a clean face with the genuine eyes of Argentinians, which I like. I’ve known the hunger they have to play football.”

De Rossi also commented on another summer signing, Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk, describing him as “one of the architects of Girona’s great season last year.”

Discussing the characteristics of his Roma squad, De Rossi noted: “This year we are a more technical team. We lose the ball less easily, and when it happens, it’s in the final meters of the pitch, not in build-up play. We have great pace, which allows you to be more dominant, but in football, two plus two doesn’t always equal four.”
