In a recent press conference, AC Milan’s CEO Giorgio Furlani addressed several key topics alongside new signing Tammy Abraham. Furlani began by expressing satisfaction with the club’s transfer activities, stating, “We’re satisfied with our market moves. We’ve accomplished what we set out to do from the beginning.”
Regarding the recent incident involving Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao during a cooling break, Furlani downplayed its significance: “It’s been discussed too much. We in management and the players themselves were surprised by the reaction. For us, it’s a non-event.”
When questioned about Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s absence from the recent match in Rome, Furlani explained, “Zlatan had a long-standing commitment, from before he joined Milan. I don’t think we need to announce every movement. I was there, along with Moncada and the owner.”
Addressing the renewal of Luka Jovic’s contract and the subsequent signing of additional strikers, Furlani clarified, “We have three competitions plus the Supercoppa. There are many matches, so it makes sense for us to have three strikers.”
On the topic of coach Paulo Fonseca’s performance, Furlani expressed continued support: “Obviously, we would have liked 9 points, but there’s no panic. We’re satisfied with the work the coach has done in preparation, and we’re behind him, as is the team.”
Furlani also commented on the club’s transfer strategy: “In football, there’s often a focus on price rather than value. We’re convinced we’ve acquired strong players who will contribute to Milan’s success.”
Meanwhile, new signing Tammy Abraham expressed his enthusiasm for joining Milan, with Furlani noting, “Abraham’s enthusiasm for the successful negotiation was crucial. The other new arrivals also strongly desired to be part of this project. We thank him for this.”
When asked about the current challenging period, Furlani remained optimistic: “It’s not a pleasant moment, but we’ll emerge united and through hard work.”
