Roma are pushing to finalize a deal for Manu Koné and look set to beat Milan to his signature this summer. The French midfielder is Daniele De Rossi’s preferred choice, and the Giallorossi have recently surpassed the Rossoneri in the race for his signature. A meeting with Borussia Mönchengladbach’s directors is currently underway. The German club is asking for approximately €20 million, but the gap between the parties is narrowing.
Roma have already secured the player’s agreement, offering a salary of €3 million per season. Koné has also received his first call-up to the French national team. France’s coach Deschamps hinted at a potential transfer, stating, “We’ve been following him for a while, we like what he’s doing with his club, and he could change teams by Friday.” The Italian capital could indeed be his next destination.
To complete the Koné deal, Roma needs to offload players. Tammy Abraham is on the verge of joining Milan, and his departure would provide the necessary funds. The Giallorossi hope to obtain a €10 million fee in addition to Alexis Saelemaekers’ transfer. Milan is willing to go up to €7 million, but the deal is close to completion.
Edoardo Bove is also on the list of potential departures, with the player needing to choose between Eintracht Frankfurt and Nottingham Forest.
