Juventus have officially completed the signing of Dutch midfielder Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta on a permanent transfer. The 26-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year contract that will keep him at the Turin club until June 30, 2029.
Koopmeiners developed in the AZ Alkmaar youth system before making his professional debut in the 2017/18 season. At 19 years old, he quickly established himself as a key midfielder for the Dutch club, showcasing his goal-scoring abilities and even taking on penalty duties.
The 2020/21 season marked Koopmeiners’ breakthrough as he netted 15 goals in 32 matches and was named the Eredivisie Player of the Year. His performances caught the attention of Atalanta, where he spent the last three years, amassing an impressive 129 appearances across all competitions with 29 goals and 15 assists.
Koopmeiners’ consistent high-level performances have also earned him a place in the Netherlands national team. He has represented his country at various youth levels and has accumulated 21 caps for the senior side since his debut in October 2020.
