Roma and Milan Explore potential Abraham-Saelemaekers swap

Start

In the final days of the summer transfer window, AC Milan and Roma are considering a potential swap deal involving Tammy Abraham and Alexis Saelemaekers. This development has sparked interest in both clubs’ camps as they look to strengthen their squads for the upcoming season.

Milan’s interest in Abraham has been ongoing throughout the summer, with the Rossoneri keen to provide competition for Alvaro Morata in attack. However, any move for the English striker is contingent on Milan’s ability to offload Luka Jovic. Should Jovic depart, Milan would be left with Morata as their sole senior striker, making the acquisition of Abraham a priority.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports how on the other side, Roma are in the market for a new winger, despite Paulo Dybala’s commitment to stay at the Stadio Olimpico for at least another year. This is where Alexis Saelemaekers enters the picture. The Belgian winger has been identified as a potential fit for Daniele De Rossi’s tactical plans at Roma.

Interestingly, there were earlier reports suggesting that Noah Okafor could be included in the deal instead of Saelemaekers. However, given that Okafor only joined Milan a year ago and Paulo Fonseca hasn’t had the opportunity to work with him extensively, Saelemaekers remains the preferred option in this potential swap.

The versatility of Saelemaekers could be a valuable asset for Roma, as he has proven his ability to play in multiple positions. For Milan, Abraham would provide a different dimension to their attack, offering a physical presence and goal-scoring threat.

As the transfer window nears its close, both clubs are evaluating the benefits of this potential swap. The deal could provide a solution for both teams, addressing their respective needs in attack and on the wing.
