Martinez initially experienced muscle fatigue in his thigh last Thursday, likely due to overexertion in the season opener against Genoa where he played 86 minutes. Manager Simone Inzaghi opted to leave him out of the squad entirely for the Lecce match as a precautionary measure.

While there is still a possibility he could be included in the squad for Friday’s match, the chances of him starting appear minimal.
