Osimhen rejects Saudi move, dreams of PSG

Start

Victor Osimhen’s transfer saga at Napoli is reaching a critical point with just days left in the summer transfer window. The Nigerian striker, who was instrumental in Napoli’s Serie A triumph last season, has expressed his desire to leave the club. However, his options appear to be dwindling.

Calciomercato report that despite holding a €130 million release clause and commanding a hefty €11 million annual salary, concrete offers from top European clubs like PSG, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United have not materialized. The only official bid has come from Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli, reportedly around €70 million, which Napoli is willing to accept.

Osimhen, however, has rejected the Saudi offer, holding out hope for a move to Paris Saint-Germain. With the transfer windows in Italy, France, and England closing on August 30th, time is running out for a European move. The Chelsea option, which could have involved a swap deal with Lukaku, has also fallen through due to wage concerns.

If no European club makes a move, Osimhen may be forced to reconsider the Saudi Arabian offer, as their transfer window remains open until September 2nd. Should he stay at Napoli beyond the European deadline, the club faces a dilemma: reintegrate him into the squad or keep him sidelined. Currently, the latter seems more likely, with Osimhen considered outside the club’s project.
