Dybala: ‘The Al Qadsiah offer? There are other things I had to consider’

Start

Paulo Dybala addressed the media following Roma’s disappointing 2-1 home loss to Empoli, discussing his decision to reject a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian club Al Qadsiah and the team’s performance.

Speaking about his return to the Olimpico after turning down the offer, Dybala said, “I tried to approach this evening like any other. One must always be professional, but today we weren’t able to do what De Rossi asked of us. I think we need to continue working, and hopefully, the transfer market will end quickly so we can understand who we’ll be for the rest of the season.”

Regarding his position on the field, the Argentine forward explained, “I sometimes drop back to help the team in the build-up phase. I feel more comfortable playing in the final third, which I didn’t do much today, and that’s something I’ll need to work on.”

Dybala then revealed the reasoning behind his decision to reject Al Qadsiah’s offer: “Everyone only looks at the economic aspect, but I considered many things like family, my wife, the city, and the desire to return to the national team. I’m 30 years old and I feel physically good; I still want to give my best. Of course, when you see that kind of figure, you think about it, but there are other priorities too.”
