Dybala was ‘never convinced’ by Saudi move

Start

In a dramatic turn of events, Paulo Dybala has decided to remain with AS Roma, turning down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Qadsiah. The Argentine forward’s decision has delighted Roma fans and reinforced his commitment to the Italian capital.

According to a report from Corriere della Sera, Dybala was never fully convinced by the prospect of moving to Saudi Arabia. Despite initial rumours of his departure, a meeting with his entourage following an emotional encounter with fans solidified his resolve to stay in Rome.

The lifestyle change associated with a move to the Middle East apparently proved too drastic for Dybala. Moreover, the outpouring of love and support from Roma supporters deeply affected his decision-making process. Sources close to the player quote him as saying, “I’m staying for the love of fans and Roma.”

Interestingly, negotiations between Roma and Al-Qadsiah never reached a conclusive stage. The proposed deal would have seen Roma receive less than €4 million, while Dybala’s representatives stood to gain a substantial €8 million commission.
