Start

Raoul Bellanova has officially joined Atalanta from Torino, marking a significant addition to the club’s roster for the 2024 season. The transfer, valued at €20 million with potential add-ons, was finalized after Atalanta reached an agreement with Torino, who had been reluctant to lose another key player following the departure of Alessandro Buongiorno to Napoli.

Bellanova, a 24-year-old right wing-back, has been recognized for his impressive performances in Serie A, particularly during his last season with Torino, where he contributed one goal and seven assists in 37 appearances. His ability to provide assists and create opportunities from the flanks made him one of the standout players in the league, and Atalanta hopes to leverage his talents to strengthen their squad.

A product of the AC Milan youth academy, Bellanova’s career has seen him play for several clubs, including a stint at Bordeaux and loan spells at Atalanta, Pescara, Cagliari, and Inter Milan. His previous experience at Atalanta during a loan period in 2020, although limited, laid the groundwork for his return to the club.

Bellanova was part of the Italy national team during the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament, although he did not see any playing time. His international experience, combined with his solid club performances, positions him as a valuable asset for Atalanta as they aim to compete in both Serie A and European tournaments.

With this signing, Atalanta continue to bolster its squad, having already added other Italian talents like Mateo Retegui and Marco Brescianini during the summer transfer window. The club’s management expressed excitement about Bellanova’s return, highlighting his potential to contribute significantly to the team’s success in the upcoming season.
