In an interview with DAZN, Douglas Luiz shared his thoughts on joining Juventus and his relationship with new manager Thiago Motta. The Brazilian midfielder expressed his excitement about the move and his readiness to meet the expectations of the fans and the club.

When asked about his decision to join Juventus, Luiz stated, “Coming to Juventus, a great club with a great history, is a very big responsibility. I’m happy. Today I’m a much more aware player than before. I think I’ve arrived at Juve at the best moment of my career, so I’ll do everything possible to meet the expectations of the fans and the club.”

Regarding his relationship with Thiago Motta, Luiz was full of praise: “Thiago Motta is very demanding, and I’m sure this will make the difference. He expects a lot, he’s a different coach compared to others I’ve had in the past. He’s young, doing everything possible to improve and learn. In these months, he’s given me a lot of freedom. If I have any doubts, I go to him, and he’s always available. He responds quickly, and this is one of the reasons why my experience at Juve has been very positive so far.”

Luiz also discussed his versatility on the field, saying, “I can play in two or three positions, as a 6, as an 8, and as a 10. I want to continue playing like this; it’s nice to do it with a coach who gives me a lot of freedom. I need to be able to get into the box, provide assists, and score goals.”

The midfielder set clear goals for himself at Juventus: “My goal is to always give my best for Juve. In some cases, we won’t be able to control the result, but we can control our willpower and our desires. This will happen in every game, regardless of the results.”

Luiz also shared a personal side, discussing his passion for fishing and how it relates to his goal celebration: “Every time I go fishing, I relax a lot. I always go with my friends and family, and I have a lot of fun. That’s why when I score a goal, I celebrate as if I were fishing.”
