Chelsea are the latest club to be linked with a move for Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly this summer. The Senegalese international has yet to agree a contract extension and could yet be sold this summer, but there are conflicting reports on his future.
Sky Sport Italia report that Chelsea are turning their attention to Koulibaly due to Matthijs de Ligt costing over €100m and Milan Skriniar about to join to PSG.
Juventus are sticking to their valuation for De Ligt and are refusing to accept counterparts in any deal while Skriniar is expected to complete his move to Paris in the coming weeks.
Koulibaly’s contract with Napoli ends in June 2023 however the Partenopei want everyone at the club to take a massive pay cut, including those players who are yet to renew.
SportItalia journalist Alfredo Pedulla reports that the Senegalese captain wants to remain in Naples and coach Luciano Spalletti considers him the most important player in the squad. Koulibaly and club owner Aurelio De Laurentiis have reportedly been in talks all week and are still hoping to find a solution which would keep him at Napoli.
