Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi recently spoke to Sky Sport (via Calciomercato) about the team’s readiness for the upcoming season. “There’s a lot of anticipation for this debut. We’ve done great work since July 13th. We’ve had staggered arrivals, but I’m satisfied with the work and commitment of the players. Last season was wonderful, and this year our effort must be even greater. It won’t be easy because the players were extraordinary, but we must always strive to improve and work every day towards that.”
Champions’ Focus
“I want to see concentration. We are the champions of Italy, and in past seasons, those defending the title have faced difficulties. We’re discussing this with the players; we need to have an intense focus to stay aligned with our goals. I gave a few extra days off because the players have given me so much. I’m pleased with how they’ve returned, showing great dedication, and there’s a lot of optimism for Saturday’s debut.”
Squad Updates
“We’ve retained last year’s team and added three important signings, giving us certainty. We’ve had some minor issues, but Arnautovic and Taremi have trained with us, and Zielinski is almost ready. Only De Vrij will need a few more days. However, these are all normal administrative matters.”
Transfer Market
“The market is open until the end of the month. We have a gap in defense due to Buchahan’s injury. We’re in talks with the club, and I have strong executives supporting me. I’ve met the new owners, who are as ambitious as we are. President Marotta, Ausilio, Baccin, Zanetti, and Ferri are here every day to discuss and see if we can make any additions before the market closes.”
New Signings
“Zielinski is a player of great technique, and we wanted him. He will be a great help, if not for Saturday, then certainly by the next game. Taremi has international experience and many goals; he has integrated very well. Martinez is an excellent goalkeeper eager to learn, and with a great goalkeeper like Sommer nearby, he will bring us great satisfaction.”
