Fiorentina president, Rocco Commisso, has decided to keep Argentine winger Nico Gonzalez at the club, halting any potential transfer to Juventus. Despite interest from both Juventus and Atalanta, Corriere dello Sport report that Gonzalez will remain with Fiorentina, as Commisso has removed him from the market. Gonzalez had expressed a desire to play in the Champions League, which fueled speculation about his departure.
Juventus, now unable to secure Gonzalez, must address other squad issues, including the futures of players like Weston McKennie and Filip Kostic. McKennie was considered as a possible exchange option for Gonzalez, but this is no longer viable.
Gonzalez’s valuation exceeded €30 million, and Commisso’s decision echoes a similar stance taken last year when a higher offer from Brentford was also rejected. The situation leaves Juventus exploring other transfer options, including potential moves for Porto’s Galeno and Francisco Conceição, as well as interest in Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling.
Meanwhile, Juventus continue to negotiate with Atalanta for Teun Koopmeiners. Although progress has stalled, discussions remain active, with Atalanta seeking a replacement before finalizing any deal. Juventus hopes to conclude the transfer soon, allowing them to strengthen their midfield as the new season approaches.
