Juventus coach Thiago Motta shared his thoughts following the team’s 0-2 defeat in a friendly match against Atletico Madrid. Despite the loss, Motta remains optimistic and focused on the upcoming Serie A season. “I am focused on the championship that is about to start, and I am really happy and excited,” he stated. Motta emphasized the importance of preparing for the first match, expressing that it will be beneficial for the team.
He also highlighted his strong working relationship with Cristiano Giuntoli, Juventus’ sporting director. “With Giuntoli, we are in constant communication and alignment, we are on the same page. I only have the field in mind,” Motta explained.
Reflecting on the friendly match, Motta noted, “Against Atletico, I saw progress; we created threats and put their defense in difficulty. They were good and knew how to counterattack, as in the second goal.” Despite the setback, Motta is confident in the squad’s potential, stating, “I am convinced of the squad we have and the possibility of working well with them, training and constantly improving.”
