Parma secured an impressive 4-1 victory in a friendly match against Atalanta, with Dennis Man scoring a brace and Ange-Yoan Bonny and Anthony Partipilo each contributing a goal. Following the game, Parma’s manager Fabio Pecchia addressed the media in a post-match press conference.
Pecchia acknowledged the need to strengthen the squad, stating, “It’s clear that we need to complete the roster. We’re all aware of this – the technical direction, the club, and myself. We’re looking for versatile players who can fit into a group that already has its own ideas.”
Regarding the team’s playing style, Pecchia emphasized, “We have a foundation to work on, with a desire to maintain possession and attack a low block. Then there’s the ability to exploit spaces in a larger field and play vertically to enhance the characteristics of our players. We need to find the way to goal; even today we scored, but we also missed many opportunities.”
The manager expressed satisfaction with the pre-season preparations so far: “I’m happy with how we’ve structured the training camp, including various matches in different environments. These games help us improve, and they’ve been valuable experiences against different realities and teams at various stages of preparation and condition compared to us. For me, the future is this – working at our home base where we have everything at our disposal. Now the matches that count are approaching.”
Pecchia also commented on Bernabé, who is currently participating in the Olympics with Spain: “When a player is involved in a competition, he won’t need much time to switch on. He’s not on vacation.”
