A new chapter begins for former Samir Handanovic at Inter Milan as the former Slovenian goalkeeper, who retired in 2023, will remain with the club but in a different capacity. Handanovic will now serve as the coach for the Under-17 team, as confirmed by Gianluca Di Marzio.
Handanovic, who captained Inter to victory in the 2021 Serie A, two Coppa Italia titles, and two Supercoppa Italiana titles, transitions from the goalpost to the sidelines. His illustrious playing career with Inter, spanning from 2012 to 2023, saw him make 455 appearances, conceding 471 goals and achieving 166 clean sheets.
The coaching staff for Inter’s youth teams has been updated as follows:
– Primavera: Andrea Zanchetta
– Under-18: Benny Carbone
– Under-17: Samir Handanovic
– Under-16: Juan Solivellas Vidal
– Under-15: Simone Fautario
Born in 1984, Handanovic’s tenure at Inter has been marked by significant achievements. Now, as he steps into his new role, he aims to impart his experience and knowledge to the next generation of Inter players.
