According to reports from Italy, Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna has secured Billy Gilmour’s agreement for a potential move to the Italian club. The negotiations with Brighton for the midfielder are progressing, as reported by Corriere dello Sport (via Tuttonapoli).
“As soon as Napoli perceives progress on the outgoing transfer front, they will set out to conquer East Sussex County,” the report states, referring to Brighton’s home, who currently hold Gilmour’s registration.
Manna has already crafted an offer of £8 million (approximately €10 million) for the 23-year-old Scottish central midfielder. While Brighton has rejected this initial bid – a move they strategically announced – Napoli’s sporting director has received positive signals from the player himself.
Gilmour’s current contract with Brighton runs until 2026, but Napoli remains optimistic about the potential transfer. “The club is ready to increase their offer. The process continues with confidence,” the report adds.
