Milan are down to the final details for Pavlovic

Start

After weeks of talks, AC Milan are on the verge of completing their second major signing of the summer transfer window. The Italian giants have reached a preliminary agreement with Red Bull Salzburg for the transfer of Serbian defender Strahinja Pavlovic.

Calciomercato report that the negotiations, which have been progressing for several days, are now in the final stages. Milan’s management, led by Giorgio Furlani, have been working tirelessly to secure the deal.

The two clubs have agreed on a base fee of around €19-20 million for Pavlovic. The final details regarding bonuses and the clauses that would trigger them are currently being ironed out. Once these aspects are settled, the transfer is expected to be swiftly concluded.

Pavlovic, known for his imposing physical presence at 194 cm tall and weighing 85 kg, is set to sign a five-year contract with Milan. The Serbian international’s deal is reported to be worth €1.5 million per season.

The 22-year-old center-back is seen as a key addition to strengthen Milan’s defensive line, which has shown signs of fragility in recent times. His arrival is not intended to replace any current squad members but rather to bring new qualities to the team’s backline.

Interestingly, there are rumors circulating about Newcastle United’s interest in Milan’s German defender Malick Thiaw. Should Thiaw depart, Milan’s management team of Moncada, Furlani, and Ibrahimovic would likely return to the transfer market to find a replacement.
