Inter at crossroads with Dumfries: Renewal talks on Saturday, Vanderson a potential alternative

Start

Inter Milan are eagerly anticipating a crucial meeting this Saturday in Milan, where they hope to finalize a contract renewal with Denzel Dumfries. The club are optimistic about reaching an agreement, with a new offer on the table that would see Dumfries’ salary increase from €2.5 million to €4 million per season, with a contract duration of either 3 or 4 years.

TMW report how an Inter executive expressed confidence in the negotiations, stating, “At this point, any day could be the right one to close the deal for his renewal. Recent contacts with the player’s entourage have been positive. Even Dumfries himself, during the European Championship, when approached, expressed his desire to stay with Inter.”

However, the club is also preparing a contingency plan to avoid losing Dumfries on a free transfer. If an agreement cannot be reached, Inter will look to sell the player and bring in a suitable replacement.

While the club has shown little interest in Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka, they have been intrigued by Monaco’s Vanderson. A source close to the club commented, “Inter wasn’t excited when Wan-Bissaka was proposed, unlike their reaction to Vanderson, the 23-year-old Brazilian from Monaco. His characteristics are judged very interesting: he runs, pushes forward, can dribble past opponents, and seems perfect as a wing-back.”
