AC Milan are reportedly showing strong interest in Borussia Mönchengladbach’s promising midfielder, Manu Koné. The 23-year-old French player, who is part of the France Olympic football squad, has caught the attention of the Rossoneri management after three impressive seasons in the Bundesliga.
According to transfer expert Matteo Moretto, Milan’s interest in Koné is described as ‘concrete,’ suggesting that the Italian giants are seriously considering making a move for the talented midfielder this summer. Koné’s profile aligns well with the type of player Milan is looking to add to their squad.
This interest comes as Milan continues their efforts to strengthen their midfield. The club had previously pursued Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana, but negotiations stalled when the asking price escalated from an initial €14 million plus bonuses to over €30 million, following interest from Manchester United and Atletico Madrid.
Milan had also considered Adrien Rabiot, who is currently a free agent. However, concerns over his high wage demands have made that option less attractive.
Koné, who joined Borussia Mönchengladbach from Toulouse in 2021, has steadily developed into a key player for the German club. His performances have not only earned him a place in France’s Olympic squad but have also put him on the radar of top European clubs.
