Empoli have set their sights on Lassana Coulibaly, the Malian midfielder currently playing for Salernitana. The 28-year-old, originally from Bamako, could make a return to Serie A following Salernitana’s relegation at the end of the 2023-23 campaign.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Salernitana, under the guidance of sporting director Gianluca Petrachi, is are also another outgoing transfer. Cypriot player Grigoris Kastanos is set to move to Hellas Verona on a permanent basis. The deal, which will bring €1.2 million to Salernitana’s coffers, will also include Yayah Kallon as part of the exchange, who will join Salernitana on loan.
Coulibaly made a total of 29 appearances last season, with 28 in Serie A and 1 in Coppa Italia, also providing 1 assist. Empoli, led by sporting director Pietro Accardi and president Fabrizio Corsi, are keen to bring Coulibaly to the club as a gift for their new manager Roberto D’Aversa, as they prepare for the upcoming Serie A season.
