Juventus are on the verge of finalizing a deal for Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice, with negotiations expected to conclude today. The transfer is likely to be structured as a paid loan with an obligation to buy, potentially costing Juventus between €30-35 million including bonuses.
Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reports howthe Bianconeri are currently in Germany preparing for their first friendly match under new manager Thiago Motta, while Nice are in Austria for their pre-season training. Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli and his Nice counterpart Florian Maurice are set to have a conference call to iron out the final details of the transfer.
Todibo has expressed his desire to join Juventus, and the club is eager to bring him to Turin as early as next week. The transfer has been facilitated by the sale of Dean Huijsen to Bournemouth for €15 million plus €3 million in bonuses, with Juventus retaining a 20% sell-on clause.
Following the potential acquisition of Todibo, Juventus are setting their sights on Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta. Despite Atalanta’s firm stance that Koopmeiners is not for sale, Juventus are prepared to make an official offer. The club has budgeted €40-45 million for the Dutch midfielder and are bolstered by the player’s interest in joining them.
Meanwhile, Matias Soulé is close to joining Roma in a deal worth around 30 million euros including bonuses, with Juventus again securing a percentage of any future transfer fee.
