Inter Milan are exploring the possibility of signing Nathan Zeze, the 19-year-old left-footed defender from Nantes, as they look to bolster their defensive options following Buchanan’s injury. While Zeze is one of the profiles being considered, he is not the only target, as the club is also prioritizing more experienced players like Jakub Kiwior from Arsenal.
Calciomercato detail how Zeze, who had his breakthrough season in Ligue 1 last year, is regarded as one of the best prospects in French football for his position. Standing at over 1.90 meters tall, the French-Ivorian defender has impressed with his physical presence, reading of the game, and tackling ability.
However, Nantes are demanding a high fee for their academy product, with reports suggesting they want no less than €15 million for the young defender. This price tag could prove to be a stumbling block for Inter, who are exploring various options.
Despite the potential obstacles, Zeze’s agent, Phi Hung Ta Van, has hinted at the player’s interest in a move to Inter. In a statement to FcIn, he said: “At the moment, he is under contract with Nantes, but he is one of the young players with the greatest potential in all of Europe, so many teams are following him. I have spoken with many clubs. Certainly, Inter is one of the best clubs in the world, so it’s always an honor when such a club is interested in you.”
