Udinese Director Nani Discusses Milan’s Interest in Samardzic

Start

Udinese group technical director Gianluca Nani addressed the speculation around Lazar Samardzic’s links with AC Milan.  The Seerbian midfielder has been closed linked with a move to the Rossoneri, with the latest reports suggesting that talks are ongoing between the two sides. Speaking with Sky Sport, Nani confirmed that there has been contact with AC Milan regarding the player, but emphasized that no official offer has been made and no formal negotiations are currently underway.

“Samardzic is an Udinese player, and we do not want to sell him. We consider him important,” Nani stated. He acknowledged that while Udinese is not actively looking to sell Samardzic, they would consider a suitable offer if it were to arrive. “It is part of our work to discuss such proposals with the player, his entourage, and the interested team,” he added.

Nani highlighted that the contact with Milan was brief and that Udinese is currently happy to retain Samardzic. When asked about the player’s valuation, he found it difficult to provide a figure for someone the club wants to keep. “He is important for us. I would be surprised if other teams were not interested in him. He is a strong player,” Nani remarked.

In recent developments, Milan has reportedly gauged Samardzic’s interest in a potential transfer, to which the player has responded positively. Milan has made initial approaches to Udinese, and the Friulian club is open to discussions, aiming for an offer close to €25 million.
