Roma are showing a strong interest in Rennes’ right-back Lorenz Assignon as they look to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season. The Italian club is actively seeking to bolster their right flank, and Assignon has emerged as a key target.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that although Roma has not yet made an official offer to Rennes, their interest in the French defender is significant. Assignon, who spent the last season on loan at Burnley, has attracted attention with his performances. During his stint in the Premier League, he made 15 appearances, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
The 23-year-old defender has also demonstrated his capabilities in Ligue 1, where he has accumulated 46 appearances, scoring one goal and assisting five times. His experience and potential make him an appealing option for Roma, who are also pursuing Matias Soulé from Juventus.
As Roma continue their efforts to strengthen their defensive lineup, Assignon remains a top candidate for the right-back position.
