Milan Close to Securing Alvaro Morata Deal

Start

Milan are on the verge of completing a high-profile transfer for Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata. The Spanish international is reportedly leaning towards a move to the Rossoneri, with a decision expected imminently.

According to Calciomercato, Milan have offered Morata a lucrative four-year contract worth €5.5 million per season. This proposal aligns closely with the player’s initial request of €5 million annually, suggesting that both parties are nearing an agreement.

The transfer fee is set at €13 million, which corresponds to Morata’s release clause at Atletico Madrid[1]. Milan is prepared to trigger this clause once they receive final confirmation from the player.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, now serving in an advisory role at Milan, has played a crucial part in the negotiations. The Swedish legend personally reached out to Morata, helping to convince the striker of the project at San Siro.

While there were rumors of AS Roma’s interest, sources indicate that Milan is the only club seriously pursuing Morata at this time. The 31-year-old is reportedly attracted by the prospect of a new challenge in Italy, a country where he has previously enjoyed success.

Atletico Madrid, anticipating Morata’s potential departure, has already begun searching for replacements. The Spanish club is considering Artem Dovbyk from Girona and Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain as possible successors.

If all proceeds as planned, Morata could undergo his medical examinations with Milan as early as Tuesday or Wednesday before departing for his summer vacation.
