Besiktas Makes Concrete Offer for Lazio’s Ciro Immobile

Start

Ciro Immobile’s future at Lazio has taken an unexpected turn as Turkish club Besiktas has made a concrete two-year offer for the Italian striker. According to Alfredo Pedullà of Sportitalia, Turkish emissaries have presented a significant proposal to Lazio’s star player.

The offer is reportedly substantial enough to prompt Immobile to consider it seriously and request a meeting with Lazio president Claudio Lotito. The two parties engaged in lengthy discussions today during the team’s pre-season gathering and the introduction of new coach Baroni.

Immobile’s current contract with Lazio runs until June 30, 2026. This means that if Besiktas decides to pursue the transfer, they would need to negotiate with Lazio for his release. The 34-year-old striker is coming off a disappointing season, scoring only 11 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions.

Currently earning €4 million net (€7.4 million gross) per year, Immobile has been the subject of transfer speculation before. Last summer, there was interest from Saudi Arabia, though it did not materialize into irresistible offers.

Interestingly, just a few weeks ago, Immobile’s agent, Moggi, stated that his client was deeply attached to Lazio and expected to fulfill his contract until 2026. He mentioned that Lazio had previously rejected offers from China, Italy, Europe, and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the strong bond between the player and the club.
