Napoli Reach Full Agreement for Buongiorno: Details and Figures of the Deal

Start

Napoli have successfully secured a deal for Torino defender Alessandro Buongiorno, despite recent concerns raised by his agent Giuseppe Riso’s comments about discussions with Inter Milan. The agreement between Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis and Torino president Urbano Cairo has been reached for a fee of €35 million plus €5 million in bonuses.

Calciomercato report how initially, there were attempts to include player exchanges in the deal, such as Ostigard, but Torino ultimately opted for a straight cash transfer. With the clubs in agreement, the final step was to finalize terms between Buongiorno’s agent and Napoli.

A pre-Euro 2024 conversation between Antonio Conte and Buongiorno had already played a crucial role, with the former Italian national team coach emphasizing the defender’s importance in Napoli’s project. Subsequently, multiple discussions took place between Buongiorno’s agent and Napoli’s new sporting director, Giovanni Manna.

The last few days proved decisive in reaching an agreement on a five-year contract with a salary starting at €2.5 million per year and increasing over time. The deal also includes a release clause that will become active after three years. Image rights issues have also been resolved.

The official announcement is expected next week, following standard medical examinations and the signing of the contract. Buongiorno is likely to join his new teammates during the latter part of Napoli’s pre-season training camp in Dimaro, scheduled from July 11 to 21.
