Start

Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta has addressed recent transfer speculation surrounding the club, particularly regarding potential moves for Marcos Alonso and Albert Gudmundsson. Speaking at an event to unveil next season’s Serie A calendar, Marotta was direct in his response to questions about these rumored targets.

“I’ve read many things and many names, including those of Marcos Alonso and Gudmundsson, but as of today, I feel I can rule them out. Our squad is already strong as it is,” Marotta stated.

The Inter executive also commented on Hakan Calhanoglu’s situation, amid rumors of interest from Bayern Munich: “We’re proud of Calhanoglu. Regarding Bayern, there has been no request”.

Addressing the recent injury to Tajon Buchanan, Marotta expressed sympathy for the young player but remained optimistic: “We’re sorry because he’s a young lad, but from the information we have, the surgical intervention went very well. We’ll evaluate what to do next. However, this doesn’t change the fact that the team is already very strong as it is.”

Marotta also touched on the contract renewal of star striker Lautaro Martinez: “We’re happy he’s stayed and that he’s our leader. He has authority and great human qualities. He’ll wear the Nerazzurri shirt for several more years.”

In a separate development, Genoa President Alberto Zangrillo made a pointed comment about Inter’s interest in Gudmundsson: “I know Inter likes him, but they would want him for free. Being in control of oneself means having the strength to say no. We won’t offer discounts or gifts to anyone”.
