Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz is scheduled to undergo his Juventus medical examination in Las Vegas, where he is currently with the Brazilian national team for the Copa America. This medical is the final step before officially confirming his transfer to the Italian giants.
Douglas Luiz is expected to sign a five-year contract with Juventus, running until 2029. The agreement includes a net salary of approximately €4 million per season, with an additional €1 million in bonuses.
Juventus will pay Aston Villa €25 million for Luiz’s services, however, the deal is more complex, involving player exchanges to offset costs. As part of the agreement, Juventus will include Samuel Iling Jr and Enzo Barrenechea in the deal.
Iling Jr is valued at around €20 million, while Barrenechea is estimated at €18 million. These valuations could result in significant capital gains for Juventus in the 2023/24 financial year – potentially €19.4 million for Iling Jr and €16.7 million for Barrenechea.
The combined player sales could generate €36.1 million in capital gains for Juventus, helping to balance the books and offset the cost of acquiring Douglas Luiz.
