Fiorentina’s young right-back Michael Kayode, who signed a contract extension until 2028 last October, has caught the attention of Premier League clubs, particularly Aston Villa. The English club, under the guidance of sporting director Monchi, has made an initial offer of €15 million plus potential bonuses for the 19-year-old Italian defender.
SportItalia journalist Alfredo Pedulla reports that Fiorentina, however, are reluctant to part ways with Kayode, who has quickly become an important asset for the team. The Italian club, who already have Dodô in the right-back position, would only consider offers starting at €20 million plus bonuses.
While Aston Villa are not the only club interested in Kayode, they are expected to make another attempt to secure his services. Monchi, known for his eye for talent, has recently facilitated a significant deal involving Douglas Luiz moving to Juventus in exchange for Barrenechea, Iling, and cash. This transaction has freed up resources for Villa to pursue new talents like Kayode.
The interest in Kayode from Premier League clubs underscores the growing reputation of young Italian defenders in the international market. As the transfer window progresses, it remains to be seen whether Aston Villa will meet Fiorentina’s valuation or if other suitors will emerge for the promising full-back.
