Carlo Ancelotti solidified his status as the coach with the most Champions League titles in history, securing his fifth triumph. Speaking with Mediaset, the Blancos’ manager reflected on the victory that brought the 15th European Cup to the Merengues, his third with the club:
“It was a tough match, especially in the first half. Then we managed to increase the pace, intensity, and concentration, and we performed better in the second half. In a final, having players who can step up from the bench is crucial, but now everything else takes a back seat: we are simply too happy.”
Speaking to Sky Sport, Ancelotti shared his joy: “It’s beautiful, very beautiful. The number of titles isn’t what’s important, but experiencing nights like this one. This second stint at Real Madrid feels like a dream. Let’s hope we don’t wake up. I told Florentino Perez to start thinking about the 16th title. He is the key to this Real Madrid, surpassing even Bernabeu today. I congratulate him; he is a great president.”
When asked about Toni Kroos playing his final match, Ancelotti responded: “He leaves after this game in the best possible way, by winning another Champions League. It’s hard for us to accept, but it’s his decision.”
On whether he will sleep with the cup as he did with his second at Milan, Ancelotti humorously replied: “No, tonight there will be no sleeping.”
