Sky: Juventus to offer €40m for Teun Koopmeiners, doubts over Chiesa

Start

Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio offered some updates on the Juventus transfer strategy, including their proposed offer for Teun Koopmeiners. The Bianconeri are expected to appoint former Bologna head coach Thiago Motta in the coming weeks, which is likely to lead to a shift in strategy for the Old Lady.

Di Marzio reports that one of the most surprising developments concerns Federico Chiesa. Despite his undeniable talent and the strong affection from fans, Chiesa is not deemed a priority by Thiago Motta. This decision is purely based on tactical preferences rather than a necessity to sell. Motta’s vision involves different tactical solutions that might favor other players better suited to his style of play.

In a strategic move, Juventus are planning to promote Michele Di Gregorio to the position of first-choice goalkeeper for the upcoming season. This decision might lead to the departure of Wojciech Szczesny, who has served the club with great professionalism. However, Szczesny might be considered for transfer to make room for the Italian talent.

Strengthening the midfield is another key area for Juventus. Thiago Motta has shown a keen interest in Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta, and Juventus have already put forward a bid of €40 million plus €5 million in bonuses to secure the Dutch midfielder. However, Atalanta are holding out for €60 million, but negotiations are ongoing, as reported by Sky Sport.

Despite the potential departures, several players are deemed essential to Thiago Motta’s future plans. Adrien Rabiot, Manuel Locatelli, Gleison Bremer, and Andrea Cambiaso are central to the club’s strategy moving forward. Additionally, if the acquisition of Riccardo Calafiori materializes, he will also be integrated as a key player.
