Rino Gattuso set for Saudi Pro League role at Al Taawoun

Gennaro Gattuso is reportedly poised to take the helm as the new coach of Al Taawoun in the Saudi Pro League. The former Milan, Napoli, and Valencia coach has reached an agreement with the club, and the final details of his contract are currently being finalized, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Gattuso’s most recent managerial stint was with Olympique Marseille, where he managed 24 games between September 2023 and February 2024, securing nine wins, eight draws, and seven defeats.

Al Taawoun, presently fourth in the Saudi Pro League standings, has two games remaining in the current season. The club’s management is optimistic that Gattuso’s leadership will propel them to new heights.

Gattuso’s coaching career has spanned several countries, including Italy, Switzerland, Greece, Spain, and France. At 46, he brings a wealth of experience and a fiery passion for the game. During his playing career, he was a stalwart midfielder for Milan from 1999 to 2012, and also had stints with Perugia, Glasgow Rangers, Salernitana, and FC Sion.
