Federico Chiesa: ‘I want to renew my contract with Juventus’

Start

Federico Chiesa confirmed that he is looking to renew his contract with Juventus: “My hope is to stay in this great club.” The Bianconeri winger spoke with the press (via TMW) following their 1-0 win over Atalanta in the Coppa Italia final, and revealed he has already held talks about a new contract:

What’s going through your mind?

“At this moment, there’s great joy, shared with the team. We were coming from a disappointing period. And for me, it was an additional pleasure because I got injured on this field two years ago…”.

Does this victory help with the renewal?

“Coppa Italia and reaching the Champions League were set objectives. I spoke with the director (Giuntoli, editor’s note) and at the end of the season, we’ll calmly sit down at the table: everyone will express their ideas. My thought is to stay in this great club; I want to bring Juve back to where it deserves. In these difficult months, we saw the league slip away, and from next year, we seek revenge. First, I’ll talk to the club.”

From injury to new vigor for the National Team?

“The thought of the injury had passed; it’s just because I’m happy. The first cup we lifted was at the Mapei Stadium with Covid, tonight there was a beautiful atmosphere… And for the Euros, I have to wait for Spalletti, but I’m available.”

Last one with Allegri?

“Certain evaluations are made by the club. Of course, there’s disappointment because we let the Scudetto dream slip away too soon.”

How did you prepare for the match?

“Before a final, there’s always tension… Tonight, seeing the stands so full of Juve fans giving us the push is a memory I’ll always carry with me.”

Who do you dedicate the victory to?

“To our families who have supported us during these months. Personally, I dedicate it to my family, my girlfriend, and friends, who came to see me today.”

Did it bother you to hear that you were the underdogs?

“They were the favorites… Everyone wrote it like that, but it turned out differently.”
