Juventus and Milan are looking at Lille defender Tiago Santos with a view to a transfer this summer, with the Rossoneri believed to be ahead in the race. Calciomercato.com report that the first priority on Milan president Gerry Cardinale’s agenda will be to resolve the coaching issue and entrust the future of the Rossoneri to a new manager. Once a definitive decision is made on Milan’s next coach, the Rossoneri’s transfer market will start to take shape. However, the initial maneuvers are already underway at Via Aldo Rossi.
Milan’s head scout Geoffrey Moncada has a strong familirity with the French league, given his years working in Ligue 1 with Monaco, and the excellent relationship between Lille and Milan has been well-known for years. The numerous operations between the two clubs (Leao, Maignan, and Djalò, to name a few) are no coincidence. But the future might hold a new agreement between the two clubs.
While maintaining contacts with Bologna to acquire Joshua Zirkzee, the situation of Jonathan David continues to be monitored. In recent days, Napoli have accelerated contacts for a post-Osimhen scenario, reaching a draft agreement on contractual terms – a salary of €3 million per season with a contract until 2029 – but failed to close the deal with Lille due to a significant gap of €10 million (Napoli’s offer being €35 million while the French club’s request hovers around €45 million ). For this reason, given Giroud’s departure and the possible non-renewal of Jovic, Milan are keeping an eye on the Canadian forward. All parties are taking their time, with the Rossoneri keeping tabs on the situation with the French club, but not just for David.
There’s also interest in Tiago Santos, a Portuguese right-back born in 2002, who arrived in France for €6.5 million from Estoril Praia, after starting his career in the Sporting Lisbon youth academy. Currently, there’s no official offer from Milan, but they have expressed interest in the player, who has been consistently monitored throughout the season. The Rossoneri are evaluating the option, along with various other targets (a central defender, a defensive midfielder, and at least one forward), considering also that Alessandro Florenzi and captain Davide Calabria’s contracts expire on June 30, 2025. There are no updates on their renewals (especially Calabria, who expects a significant salary adjustment, but there is still a gap between demand and offer), so Milan is looking at a right defensive flank.
Juventus have also shown interest in Tiago Santos and the Bianconeri are evaluating his name as a possible replacement for Timothy Weah, also from Lille, in case cristiano Giuntoli fails to secure the real target for that area of the field: Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna.
